The College of Engineering offers four-year undergraduate programs leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science in Engineering; programs leading to Associate and Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology (in evening part-time programs through Continuing Education), five-year dual-degree programs with the College of Arts and Sciences leading to a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts, and Bachelor to Master Program, leading to both Bachelor of Science in Engineering and Master of Science in Engineering.

Course requirements for engineering degrees have been determined by specific professional objectives and are subject to the recommendations of the Engineering Accreditation Commission and the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).

The following undergraduate engineering programs are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET.

  • Biomedical Engineering
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Computer Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Plastics Engineering

New programs in Environmental Engineering and Industrial Engineering will be up for accreditation upon graduation of their respective first class of students. Engineering Technology bachelor's degree programs are accredited by the Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org. Please consult any applicable licensure requirements for these programs.

The degree of Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology is awarded in the areas of Electronic Engineering Technology and Mechanical Engineering Technology, which are offered in the evenings through the Division of Graduate and Professional Studies. The Electronic and Mechanical Engineering Technology bachelor's degree programs are currently accredited by the Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET.

Courses of study in engineering and engineering technology provide a basic general education, scientific-technological preparation in the sciences, and a comprehensive introduction to an engineering or technology field. Students must select a single major field of study. However, candidates for degrees in the College of Engineering may be permitted to elect additional majors in other colleges of the university, provided that all curriculum requirements for their degree program in the College of Engineering are satisfied.
