Digitization / Virtualization Sensor for Cloud

  • Project Description: Digital/Virtualization Sensor to Cloud 2020 The 2020 Schneider Electric UMASS Lowell Capstone project collaboration will explore virtualization and using containers in real-time embedded systems to allow automation functions to be downloaded to Linux based computing nodes. The students will study available container technologies such as Dockers & Podman and port and integrate into lower end embedded platforms such as Raspberry Pi’s. The students will study the resource requirements for containerization both for RAM usage and processor usage.
