10 Tips for a Successful Move-In

Move In

  1. Schedule enough time to arrive on campus at your selected time and complete move in.
  2. Remember directions to your Residence Hall.
  3. Bring one willing helper.
  4. Be sure to check the opening schedule of events and to attend your designated floor meetings.
  5. Pack the essentials for now, you can always ship items at a later time. Be sure to see the list of items we recommend and what to leave at home.
  6. Communicate with your roommate(s) ahead of time to find out what each of you will be bringing. You can find their information on the online housing portal.
  7. Be prepared for inclement weather.
  8. Review the code of conduct while packing to prevent bringing prohibited items and learn campus policies.
  9. Listen to University Staff, we're here to help and ensure you have a great experience!
  10. And finally, remember to have patience.
