Follow these three easy steps to secure your home away from home for 2022-2023

Students Standing With Cutout

1. Complete your Housing Application

The housing application can be found on the Online Housing Portal.

For priority housing consideration and to participate in the roommate matching and room selection process, returning students should complete their housing application prior to March 31 and new students should complete their housing application prior to May 5.

Those who complete their application after this date will be assigned by the housing staff based on preferences in their application and availability, if any.

If you have any questions regarding housing, please call 978-934-5160 or e-mail the Office of Residence Life:

While we no longer require a deposit, please note that there are significant penalties for cancelling your contract after the specified deadlines. Please see our Cancellation section webpage for more details.

2. Roommate Matching

Students will be able to return to their housing application to pick roommates after the priority date. Students are not required to participate in roommate matching but other students may select or be placed into beds that you don't fill in your unit.

Students will only be able to see other students that they are eligible to live with based upon having a completed housing application, housing assignment gender, class year, LLC community participation, and visibility in the roommate matching process.

Lottery Time Slot

Every returning resident and commuter that applies for housing on or before the priority date is assigned a Lottery Time Slot. This lottery time slot will be used to determine what time the student can log in and pick a room during the room selection process.

Lottery time slots are randomly assigned within each class year (based on credits earned when you apply) in the following order:

  • Graduate Students
  • Seniors
  • Juniors
  • Sophomores
  • Freshmen

3. Room Selection

You will be given a time slot that will dictate the earliest possible time when you can log in to assign yourself into available open spaces. At this time you may also pull in roommates that have been requested and confirmed. The person with lowest possible time slot should act as a the group representative.

Room selection processes (LLC & non-LLC) will occur:

  • Week of April 18 for upper-class students
  • Week of June 22 for incoming first-year and transfer students
