Break Housing

We offer housing on campus during the summer and winter breaks. Below is information on break housing options and costs.

Summer Intersession

If you wish to remain on campus over the summer you must review the terms and complete the summer housing contract on the Online Housing Portal under Housing Applications.

If your organization is hosting interns over the summer and looking for housing in the Lowell Area please contact Hospitality & Event Services to inquire about availability and rates.

Summer 2018 Housing Information

Updated information for summer 2018 break housing will be available in the spring 2017 semester.


Winter Break housing

If you wish to remain on campus over the winter you must complete the Winter 2018 Housing Application (available starting November 1) on the Online Housing Portal under Housing Applications. Winter break housing is only available to residents with a current room assignment.

All residence halls are open for winter break with limited services.  Students must register to remain on campus for winter break to ensure proper ID card access.  Please note that students living on South Campus or the ICC will need to manage their own transportation to East Campus to access the dining hall.  Housing and Dining rates for winter break are below.

Winter Break Housing Rates

  • Session 1: $340 (December 21 - January 2)
  • Session 2: $540 (January 2 - January 21)
  • Entire Winter Break: $880 (December 21 - January 21)

Meal Plan Options

Students may utilize their current fall meal plan if they still have meals and points remaining.

  • Points can be used from December 21 to January 1 at Crossroads.
  • Remaining meals from the fall semester can be used at University Dining Commons beginning on January 2.
  • If you have the Platinum or Gold Meal plans for the fall, your meals will be unlimited for winter break. If you were on the Silver Meal Plan and are out of meals or are not currently on a meal plan but wish to have one for winter break, please contact the Office of Residence Life to obtain one of the following options for the January 2 to January 21 time frame:
    • 10 Meal Plan for $155
    • 19 Meal Plan for $260

Dining Locations and hours for December 26 - January 1


  • 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. weekdays
  • Closed: December 24 - 25 (Christmas Eve and Day) and December 31 - January 1, 2018 (New Years Eve and Day)

Note: All other locations are closed.

University Dining Commons

  • 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. weekdays
  • 10 a.m. -7 p.m. weekends


  • 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. weekdays

Starbucks North / South

  • 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. weekdays


  • 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. weekdays

Note: Spring Meal Plans start on January 21.
