Room Selection

Follow these three easy steps to secure your home away from home:

Complete your Housing Application

The housing application can be found on the Online Housing Portal.

All current residents and commuters need to complete their contract on or before April 14 for guaranteed housing.

Incoming first-year and transfer students need to complete their contract on or before June 5 for guaranteed housing.

Those who complete their contract after this deadline will be assigned based on preferences in their application and availability, if any.

Next Steps

Roommate Matching

Current resident students and commuters will be able to return to their housing application to pick roommates, date TBD.

Incoming first-year and transfer students will be able to return to their housing application to pick roommates, date TBD.

Students will only be able to see other students that they are eligible to live with based upon having a completed on-time housing application, housing assignment gender, class year, LLC community participation, and visibility in the roommate matching process.

Lottery Time Slot

Every returning resident and commuter that applies for housing on or before the April 14 deadline is assigned a Lottery Time Slot. This lottery time slot will be used to determine what time the student can log in and pick a room during the Living Learning Community selection process and General room selection process.

Lottery time slots are randomly assigned by class year in the following order:

  • Seniors/Graduate Students
  • Juniors
  • Sophomores
  • Freshmen

First year student and transfer student Lottery Time slots will be generated at random for those who applied on time.


What do you want to do?

Retain my room:

Students in select areas may be eligible to retain their current space for the following academic year. Students will be notified of eligibility prior to retention days. In order to retain your room you should log onto the Online Housing Portal, return to the application and select "retain room".

Pull-in a roommate:

Be sure to retain your room first and request and confirm roommates on the housing portal. To request a roommate students should obtain their desire roommates web screen name (student email address without ''). All requests must be mutually confirmed prior to any attempt to pull-in to a room or suite. Students should pull-in roommates by logging into the Online Housing Portal and selecting the portion of the application called "Roommate Assign".

General Room Selection

You will be given a time slot that will dictate the earliest possible time when you can log in to assign yourself into available open spaces. At this time you may also pull in roommates that have been requested and confirmed. The person with lowest possible time slot should act as a the group representative.
