East Campus Bus Stop

New for Fall 2018!

The main bus stop for East campus has been relocated to the Campus Rec Center circle. This change will help to centralize the bus stop within East campus, and aid in bus and shuttle operations with new traffic patterns stemming from construction on the Pawtucket Street bridge.

Road Construction Updates:

The City of Lowell has been awarded a grant from the United States Department of Transportation’s Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER VII) Discretionary Grant Program to repair and rehabilitate six canal bridges in Lowell. The two closest to campus include:

  • Pawtucket Street over the Pawtucket Canal (near South Campus) and
  • Pawtucket Street over the Northern Canal (near East Campus).

Construction has started on some of these bridges already.

Massachusetts Department of Transportation closed the canal bridge on Market Street over the Western Canal, on September 18, 2017. This closure will allow the state to rebuild the bridge, and is expected to reopen in the Fall of 2018. During this time shuttles will be detoured that need to travel in this area.

Purple Line and Ayotte Garage:

  • Freshmen and Sophomore North Campus majors will continue to park at 1001 Pawtucket Blvd. The Purple Line will go from 1001 Pawtucket Blvd to North Campus, starting the first day of Fall 2018 classes.
