Transportation Updates

Map showing The N&W Orange Line will no longer be running and will be replaced by an extension of the N&W Yellow Line and the addition of a whole new line. The N&W Yellow Line will now service North Campus, including the Lydon/Cumnock stops. Buses will now stop at UCrossing and East Campus in both directions so riders boarding at East or UCrossing will not have to travel to North if they're heading Downtown or to the ICC. The Downtown Express is all-new for Fall 2019. This line will take riders straight from South Campus and Riverview Suites to Downtown with a stop at the ICC before returning south. This line will only run on Thurdays, Fridays and Saturdays 10pm-2:30am. The N&W Red Line is unchanged. Photo by Nathan Klosowski

Road Construction Updates

The City of Lowell has been awarded a grant from the United States Department of Transportation’s Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER VII) Discretionary Grant Program to repair and rehabilitate six canal bridges in Lowell. The two closest to campus include:

  • Pawtucket Street over the Pawtucket Canal (near South Campus) and
  • Pawtucket Street over the Northern Canal (near East Campus).

Construction has started on some of these bridges already.
