Why Study Exercise and Fitness Management at UMass Lowell?

Career Options

Graduates are prepared for entry-level careers in administration and managerial roles within the exercise, fitness, and wellness career fields. Some examples include:

  • Manage a small or large fitness center, including corporate fitness
  • Work for community organizations and non-profits to lead their fitness and wellness programs
  • Work sales at medical device companies with a wide range of specialties from wearable technology to cardiac defibrillators
  • Work as a collegiate sports coach 

Internships

Students enrolled in the exercise science and fitness management concentration are required to complete one (1) field experience or internship during their undergraduate career. This is completed through the Clinical Practicum course.
