What is a remote event?

A “Remote Event” takes place online in the form of video and audio conferencing, collaborations, chats, and webinars to be accessed by mobile devices, desktops, telephones, and room systems. There are two types of remote events that Hospitality and Event Services recommend: a remote meeting or a remote webinar.

Remote Meeting versus Remote Webinar

A remote meeting should be used when “hosting more interactive sessions where you’ll want to have lots of audience participation or break your session into smaller groups” (Zoom).

A remote webinar format (Zoom) should be used for large audiences or events that are open to the public such as a town hall.
