Curriculum

The M.S. Eng. in Mechanical Engineering degree requires a minimum of 30 credit hours of acceptable graduate work, including nine credit hours of research for the thesis option or nine credit hours in an acceptable out-of-department secondary concentration for the non-thesis option. 
Students on the non-thesis track can choose from the following concentrations:

  • Vibrations/Dynamics/Controls
  • Design and Manufacturing
  • Out-of-Department

Career Outlook

Mechanical engineering master's graduates are highly sought-after by employers and earn a competitive salary. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the annual mean wage for mechanical engineers in Massachusetts was between $105K-$126K in 2022. (bls.gov)
