Can international students apply for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)?: No, international students do not qualify for federal financial aid and should not complete the FAFSA.
When should I apply for admission?: UMass Lowell (UML) offers rolling admissions for most programs, but there are deadlines to apply for a visa document.
How do I check the status of my application for admission?: You may check the status of your application for admission through the application portal.
Who can answer my immigration questions?: Please direct questions about immigration to the International Students & Scholars Office (ISSO).
How much is the admission application fee?: The admissions application fee ranges between $50-$75, depending on your program of interest.

Does the University of Massachusetts Lowell award credit for the International Baccalaureate (IB) program and the Advanced Placement (AP) exams?: Yes, UMass Lowell awards credit for both exams. Please see the Policies for Advanced Standing Through Exams page for more information.
Can international students work on campus?: Yes, F1 and J1 students can work on campus. If you hold a different type of student visa, your eligibility to work on campus will vary.
