Biosketch

Steven C. Sweat, M.Ed. (They/Them/Theirs) joined the Residence Life team in 2021 as the new Associate Director for Inclusion and Residential Leadership. Steven leads the department's charge in developing and enhancing our residents' intercultural competencies; educating on topics within diversity, equity, inclusion, access, and belonging. They also advise two student organizations within Residence Life: the Residence Hall Association (RHA) on advocacy and programmatic efforts and the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) on recognition and service learning efforts.

Steven comes with diverse leadership experiences from Clemson University, University of Florida, Towson University, Florida International University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the New England Conservatory. Steven's personal interests include music (listening to and as a violinist), Anime, enjoying playing MMORPG video games (like Final Fantasy XIV Online) as a healer or support class, and spending quality time with their partner.
