The Center for Community Research and Engagement (CCRE) facilitates connections between community organizations, students, faculty, staff and departments. We have experience working with or linking students to internships, practicum, work study, service learning, and volunteer opportunities.
Ways We Work
Mentoring: We create structured pathways for mentoring students in Community Engaged Scholarship through graduate research assistant positions and supervised practicum. If you are interested in working with CCRE contact Robin_Toof@uml.edu.
Transformative Internships and Engagement (TIE Hub): CCRE brings its years of experience and relationships working with community partners to the Steering Committee of TIE Hub, a new initiative of the College of Fine Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. TIE Hub connects students, faculty, staff and nonprofit, governmental and educational organizations to engage in transformational experiences that help students pursue meaningful and productive career paths.
CCRE’s Program Coordinator also serves as the Community Connections Coordinator for TIE Hub. If you are interested in learning more, email Darcie_Boyer@uml.edu or visit the Transformative Internships and Engagement Hub website.
Making connections: We also facilitate communities of practice and events to connect university colleagues to each other and our community partners.
