Authorized Users

An Authorized User (AU) is the primary contact and responsible person who ensures safe use of material in the lab. The AU ensures all radiation workers receive radiation safety training and are specifically trained by the AU or senior staff. If all radiation procedures and requirements are not followed, the permit to use radioactive material will be revoked and research will stop until the situation is rectified. All authorized users ensure their staff procure, use, and dispose of materials properly.
