The Music Department offers scholarships to approximately 30 perspective students each year based on the strength of their auditions as well as other factors.

Additional scholarships are awarded to 20 to 30 returning students at the end of the spring semester across all of our majors. While each of these awards are based both on how well a student is doing at UMass Lowell and their potential, a number of them also take financial need into account.

Scholarship awards are determined by the department chair, who takes recommendations from the faculty as well as applications directly from students.
