The electrical department serves the varied electrical needs of the university's campus with its staff of OSHA-trained, licensed electricians. All electricians attend regular code update training to ensure the campus is in compliance with federal and state laws. Areas of responsibility include:
- Electrical safety
- Emergency response
- Electrical maintenance, such as changing ballasts, resetting circuits and checking outlet problems
- Electrical support for new equipment
- Electrical services for special events such as concerts
