The UMass Lowell Basketball Pep Band is one of three major ensembles under the umbrella of university bands. Established in 2013, the ensemble maintains a demanding schedule, performing at all Division 1 Men's Basketball and Women's Basketball home games, and accompanying them in tournament play. The band also serves the University as a source of entertainment, performing at other campus events.
Along with the much-acclaimed University Marching Band, and the Hockey Pep Band (Jazz-Rock Big Band), the Basketball Pep Band is the newest component of of the Bands program. Director of Bands Dan Lutz, and Associate Director of Bands Deb Huber conduct and direct all of these programs.
Students of all majors are welcomed participants in the bands programs. Rehearsals begin at the end of October. Please contact Deb Huber by email: DebraNicole_Huber@uml.edu for additional details and participation in the basketball band.
