The College of Fine Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences welcomes all FAHSS students to visit the Advising Center on the third Floor of O’Leary Library. The primary purpose of the the center is to provide a centralized location for the advising of all Undeclared Liberal Arts and Bachelor of Liberal Arts majors as well as other students from FAHSS.
The center is staffed with dedicated, trained faculty and professional advisors. The FAHSS Advising Center is not intended to replace department-based faculty advising, but serves as an additional resource for any student in the college, particularly those who are considering changing majors and have questions about other programs.
All students are assigned a Faculty Academic Advisor, who is listed in SiS. All FIRST-YEAR students are also assigned a Professional Academic Advisor, listed in SiS, who assists with things like acclimating to college and successful academic planning. First-year students in the College of Fine Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences are assigned to either Shontae Praileau, Anne Apigian, or Todd Borchers (transfers).
All students in the College of Fine Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences are required to meet with an advisor prior to registering for classes and to discuss ways to support their success at UML.
Visit UMass Lowell's Advising pages for the student toolkit and a step-by-step guide to registration.
