Where Can Freshmen and Sophomore Commuters Park?

For the Fall 2021 semester freshmen and sophomore commuter students, with valid virtual permits, may only park in the following locations on South Campus before 3 p.m.:

  • Broadway/Riverview Lot
  • Coburn Lot
  • South Garage

After 3 p.m. and on weekends and holidays, parking is permitted in any commuter surface lot on North and South campuses.

Where can Freshmen and Sophomore Residents Park?

Residents have parking in the vicinity of their halls and may not move their vehicle across campus before 3 p.m.

East campus resident students except River Hawk Village residents may park in the following lots on East:

  • East Garage
  • Fox Lot
  • Perkins

River Hawk Village resident students may park in the the following lots on East:

  • Hall Street Garage
  • Lawrence Drive Lot
  • Perkins Lot on East Campus

South campus resident students may park in the following lots on South:

  • Broadway / Riverview
  • Riverview Suites Lot (surface lot only; small garage under building is reserved for faculty/staff)
  • South Garage

After 3 p.m. and on weekends and holidays, parking is permitted in any commuter surface lot on North and South campuses.

How is My Class Year Determined?

Eligibility for this parking will be determined by student status as recognized by the Registrar's Office. Freshmen and sophomores are those students with less than 54 credits completed, although we will honor those students that within 3 credits of Junior status (51+ credits as upperclassmen).

How Much Does it Cost to Park at UMass Lowell?

Parking rates for the 2021-2022 academic year is $450 per year.

Students who have mostly online/virtual classes, and are only on campus intermittently or 1-2 times per week, are encouraged to utilize Temporary / Day Pass permits which are $8 per day.

Short-term parking for less than 2 hours is available in our metered lots in 15 minute increments. Please note: having a permit does not allow for parking in metered lots without paying the posted rates.
