Vicki Magley is an Professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, CT.  She received her Ph.D. from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign in social and organizational psychology, with a particular emphasis on methodology.  The main focus of her research lies within the domain of occupational health psychology and combines organizational and feminist perspectives in the study of the antecedents and consequences of sexual harassment in the workplace.  She has published and presented papers at national conferences on topics such as the effects of self-labeling experiences as sexual harassment – for both men and women, evaluating the effectiveness of sexual harassment training programs, and coping with sexual harassment.  In addition, she has assisted as a trial and litigation consultant on sexual harassment cases and worked as a Department of Defense Research Consortium Fellow where she was part of the social science consulting team on the 1995 survey of sexual harassment in the military.  Complementing her work on sexual harassment, she has more recently been examining the incidence and effects of non-sexualized, yet uncivil work experiences.
