The Center for Community Research and Engagement (CCRE) supports cohesive networks of university stakeholders who come together around common interests and goals particularly as they relate to our mission.
Center for Women and Work (CWW) Legacy Group
Originally known as the CWW Associates, this group was founded by the Center for Women and Work to provide a safe place to share and obtain feedback on research topics, promotion and tenure documents, and work life in general. With the closure of the Center for Women and Work, the Center for Community Research and Engagement has continued to host this important community of scholars.
The mission of this group is to bring UMass Lowell staff and faculty together to foster research, mentorship, and collaboration. This group welcomes people from all colleges, offices, and departments, and functions as a university-wide interdisciplinary working group.
The specific functions of this group will include:
- Sharing and discussing various research and other working projects
- Fostering mentorship through discussions of promotional materials and procedures, research and publication strategies, and general professional recommendations and insights.
- Supporting university-wide collaborations by discussing and developing potential new projects and programs for participants.
- Providing supportive spaces to discuss various institutional, professional, and community points of interest and concern.
The core values of this group include but are not limited to social justice, intersectionality, institutional equity, and community building.
Community-engaged Research / Scholarship Partnerships
This community of practice invites UMass Lowell (UML) faculty, staff, and students focused on community-engaged scholarship, in its various forms, to network, share successes, and brainstorm solutions to issues around working in collaboration with communities, with a focus on ethical practices that recognize and respect the knowledge and expertise of our community partners. Participants walk away with new perspectives and a greater knowledge of how to ethically engage in community-based scholarship, while connecting to others on campus with similar interests.
