Community-University Connections Breakfast

Annual event held in May. Community organizations and UMass Lowell (UML) faculty / staff / students who are interested in collaborations (student projects, research, service-learning, internships, etc.) meet and discuss possibilities.

We also share what we have been working on to further support community-engaged research, scholarship, and student experiential learning opportunities on campus.

Community Thursdays at UMass Lowell

Faculty, staff, and students—are you interested in learning more about partnership opportunities with local community organizations doing vital work in and around Lowell? Join the Center for Community Research and Engagement for our Community Thursday Series! Talk with our featured organizations about the work they do and the types of collaborations they are interested in forming with our UML community.

There are amazing people doing important work in our community, both on and off campus. Join us for these informal conversations to talk about how we can support each other and collaborate to improve the lives of everyone in our community.

The New American Association of Massachusetts (NAAM) assists newly arriving refugees and immigrants with integration into American society, to promote economic stability, to build bridges with the larger community, and to foster the maintenance of refugees’ and immigrants’ cultural identities.

October 16
Fortaleza, Inc. advocates for the removal of structural inequities and barriers impacting the education of Latino students and for the elimination of Latino education opportunity gaps.

November 13
Cooperative Elder Services, Inc. provides adult day health care and specialized care for participants with Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases and related dementia and family caregivers.

February 12
Lowell Alliance advocates for, educates and works with Lowell residents to meet critical needs and help make their vision for the community a reality.

March 19
Allies in Music Education furthers the development of community-based music programs, with a focus on generating cultural competency, community engagement, and the development of core musical skills.
