Verification of Employment And Salary

The University of Massachusetts is now part of The Work Number®, an independent service, which provides our current and former employees and verifiers with rapid verification 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

  1. For Proof of Employment or Income, provide your creditor:
    • Access Options for Creditors: visit the The Work Number® website or call: 1-800-367-5690 or 1-800-367-2884.
    • UMass Employer Code: 18128
    • Your Social Security Number
  2. To retrieve Proof of Employment or Income, self service:
    • Access The Work Number® website and Select ViewMy Data and then Login (or Register)
    • After logging in, click on "Employment Data Report"
    • Select your State
    • Select Reason for Request
    • Select whether to include your full social security number (SSN)
    • Click "Generate Report"
    • After report generates, click "Download Full Report"
  3. To retrieve an Immigration Support Letter, you need to:
    • Access The Work Number® website and Select ViewMy Data and then Login (or Register)
    • After logging in, click "Letters Center"
    • Locate your desired employer from list
    • Click the "Generate" next to Immigration
    • Click "Open PDF" next to the Immigration

  4. Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Form Fulfillment with The WorkNumber
    • Access The Work Number® website and select View My Data and then Login (or Register)
    • After logging in, click "Letters Center"
    • Locate your desired employer from list
    • Click "Generate" next to Public Service Loan Forgiveness.
    • Select Commonwealth of Massachusetts/University of Massachusetts - click Next.
    • Review your prepopulated personal data in five simple steps.
    • After reviewing your personal information, download and print the form.
    • An authorized representative's name will appear on the form (from the UMass President’s Office). If an employee attempts to change any information on the PSLF form, the representative's name will be removed, and the employee will need to get a manual signature.

*Note: A Salary key can be created by the employee and handed to a verifier in the rare occurrence that the verifier is not a verifier with The Work Number®.
