COVID-19 POLICY NOTICE

The policies below are subject to change as the campus formalizes its reopening plans and if new health guidance becomes available over the summer and/or fall semester. Please check our website, or our social media pages, for any updates.

Where Can Freshmen and Sophomore Commuters park?

For the Fall 2020 semester freshmen and sophomore commuter students, with valid decals, may park in Riverside Lot A, Riverside Lot B and North Garage Floors 1-2 on North Campus; Broadway/Riverview and South Garage on South Campus; and East Garage and Perkins Lot on East Campus.

Where can Freshmen and Sophomore Residents park?

Residents have parking in the vicinity of their halls - University Apartments and ICC residents must also purchase a decal.

East campus resident students may park in East Garage, Fox Lot, and Perkins Lot on East Campus; and Broadway / Riverview and South Garage on South Campus.

River Hawk Village resident students may park in the Hall Street Garage, Lawrence Drive Lot, and Perkins Lot on East Campus; and Broadway / Riverview and South Garage on South Campus.

South campus resident students may park in Riverside Lot A, Riverside Lot B and North Garage Floors 1-2 on North Campus; Broadway / Riverview and South Garage on South Campus; and East Garage and Perkins Lot on East Campus.

ICC resident students may park in the Lower Locks Garage floors 1-2; Riverside Lot A, Riverside Lot B and North Garage Floors 1-2 on North Campus; Broadway/Riverview and South Garage on South Campus; and East Garage and Perkins Lot on East Campus.

After 3 p.m. all students may park in the commuter surface lots on both North and South campuses.

How is my class year determined?

Eligibility for this parking will be determined by student status as recognized by the Registrar's Office. Freshmen and sophomores are those students with less than 54 credits completed, although we will honor those students that within 3 credits of Junior status (51+ credits as upperclassmen).

How much does it cost to park at UMass Lowell?

Parking rates for the 2020-2021 academic year are as follows:

  • Students Admitted in or after the 2014-2015 Academic Year (fall 2014 and later) - $450 per year
  • Students Admitted prior to the 2014-2015 Academic Year - $404 per year

Students who have mostly online/virtual classes, and are only on campus intermittently or 1-2 times per week, are encouraged to utilize Temporary / Day Pass permits which are $8 per day.

Please note: parking rates will not increase more than 5% annually based on your admit year. For example, if you are admitted in fall 2020, your parking may remain $450 next year, or may increase up to, but not to exceed, $472.
