A neurotechnology startup aiming to treat chronic pain and neurological disorders won the 15th annual Massachusetts Medical Device Development Center (M2D2) $200K Challenge.

UMass Lowell has announced that University Crossing will be renamed the Martin T. Meehan Student Center in recognition of Meehan’s new charitable commitment of $1.5 million, as well as in appreciation of previous gifts raised during his tenure as UMass Lowell chancellor and president of the University of Massachusetts system.

UMass Lowell has been recertified for the Carnegie Community Engagement Classification, reaffirming the university’s long-standing commitment to mutually beneficial partnerships. The designation was announced this month by the American Council on Education (ACE) and the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and extends UMass Lowell’s classification through 2032.
