Career Development Certificate Program 

The workshops in this series offer participants with ways to enhance their professional skills along with an introduction to LinkedIn for Beginners and advanced users. Participants must attend 3 out of the 6 workshops in order to receive a certificate. This certificate program is facilitated by the Career Services & Cooperative Education Center.


Effective Communication Skills Certificate Program  

This series is offered both as in-depth learning opportunities and as individual workshops that employees can register for to support growth in specific topic areas. Participants must attend 3 out of the 8 workshops to receive a certificate.


7 Habits of Highly Effective People
 Certificate Program 

Based on the proven principles found in Dr. Stephen R. Covey’s best-selling business book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. This program helps your organization achieve sustained superior results by focusing on making individuals and leaders more effective.  Participants gain hands-on experience, applying timeless principles that yield greater productivity, improved communication, strengthened relationships, increased influence, and laser-like focus on critical priorities. This 10.5 hour program. Participants must commit to the entire sequence of dates and times to receive a certificate.  


University Budgeting Certificate Program  

The Budget Office series covers essential budgeting skills and responsibilities including campus practices for creating and monitoring a budget. Participants must attend all 3 sessions to receive a certificate.

EC6: Managing Up Workshop

Are you looking for tips on how best to talk with your managers about your working relationship and what needs to get done? Do you need help with juggling demands from multiple managers and discussing the realities of your workload? The relationship between an employee and his/her supervisor is a critical one. In this workshop, you will learn tools and techniques to better understand your manager's goals and preferred work style. This is a great workshop for those who want to increase their effectiveness by maximizing their relationships with their supervisors.

EC7: Put Your Strengths to Work

This 3-hour workshop helps you identify your strengths and develop an action plan to capitalize on them. The focus is on developing your existing talents into even greater strengths. This workshop is based on the book, StrengthsFinder 2.0, or Strengths Based Leadership by Tom Rath. With strategies for applying your strengths, StrengthsFinder 2.0 will change the way you look at yourself, your colleagues, and the unique contributions employees can make to building a strengths culture at work.

Note: All participants will need to complete the on-line survey before the session and bring their completed profile to this workshop. Once your registration is confirmed, you will receive the information for the on-line survey by email.

EC8: Emotional Intelligence Workshop

Enhance your self-awareness and make emotions work for you to build more productive relationships, professionally and personally. In this course, you will develop and enhance skills that will positively impact your work and tap into a whole new level of achievement in your career. How you will benefit: recognize the impact that EI abilities have on your professional development and career; assess your own EI abilities; and create an action plan for continued EI self-development.
