Both current students and alumni are encouraged to connect with our departmental LinkedIn account. UML Connected is also a UML based networking tool that can link students to alumni in economics as well as other disciplines.

The economics department is very committed to facilitate a successful job placement of our students majors. With such goal, it has been an active participant of the UMass Lowell Employer in Residence program.

Obtain Resources

The UMass Lowell Career & Co-op Center is a great on-campus resource for students exploring their career paths. Career counselors help identify experiential opportunities, help with job/internship searching, resume and cover letter development, interviewing, and so on.

Handshake is UMass Lowell’s on-campus recruiting system, where employers post positions for prospective interns, co-ops, entry-level and experienced candidates.

Internships and Research

UMass Lowell provides a wide range of other internships opportunities such as the very successful collaboration with the Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars (TWC).

Students interested in research should also consider applying to our Employer in Residence program. Research opportunities often arise from common interests among our students and faculty and are sponsored by the department.
