A major in economics gives you a wide range of career options, just as described in the brochure you will receive when you will declare to be an economics major. (If you are interested, watch this video by the American Economic Association);
Economists perform a variety of roles in the corporate world. They forecast economic trends, analyze economic environments for firms, and predict the effects of government policies on firms. Economists also help firms formulate strategies for developing and marketing products and services. They assess market demands, undertake price and cost analysis, and conduct a variety of statistical work related to production. An undergraduate major in economics is also an ideal preparation for pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in the future.
