This page provides users with step by step instructions on how to create and manage passwords using myPassword. myPassword is UMass Lowell's self-service password management tool. This allows users to securely manage their own secure access and campus email account password.
Step 1: Navigate to https://myPassword.uml.edu.
Step 2: When using myPassword for the first time, users should click Change my Password to create a new password.
Step 3: On the next screen enter your Secure Access ID Logon ID, which will be your full UMass Lowell email address followed by your default password, and then click the Logon button.
Note: By default your initial password are the letters Ums (Uppercase "U" , Lowercase "ms") and your SiS system ID number (ex: Ums01234567).
Step 4: Answer the three security question that appear and then click the Update button to create your profile.
Step 5: Click the Enter option and create a new password.
Note: To comply with the Universities complexity requirements, your password must have a minimum length of 8 characters and must follow three of the four rules:
Step 6: This new password will now give you access to your UMass Lowell email account as well as SiS Self-Service, the Wireless Network, HR Direct, myAlert, MyParking, VPN, the Online Housing Gateway and the Echo 360 Lecture Capture System.
Now if you forget your password or need to change it, you can return to myPassword and reset it yourself.
