Biosketch
Ingeborg Hegemann has been teaching at UMass/Lowell for several years, beginning by teaching Wetland Ecology and now teaching Engineering Ethics and Practice, and Environmental Lab.
Hegemann is retired from a career as a wetland scientist at a private engineering firm. Prior to retiring, she managed the Ecological Sciences Group, and then the firm's Worcester office. She became acting president for one year and then was chair of the board.
In addition to her management and leadership experience, Ingeborg has 40 years of consulting and volunteer experience in wetlands assessment and impact analysis, and regulatory permitting at the local, state, and federal levels. Her experience is multidisciplinary and includes technical and scientific as well as legal and regulatory knowledge and practice.
Ingeborg serves on her local Conservation Commission and Selectboard.
