Biosketch
Nathaniel Rooney is an undergraduate at UMass Amherst’s Commonwealth Honors College. He is pursuing a dual degree in Mathematics and Economics with a minor in Political Science. He has contributed to research on energy inequality in Chicago under the guidance of Professor Michael Ash, utilizing conditional inference trees to identify the determinants of energy transition technology adoption as part of the "Color of Wealth: Chicago" study. He is also working with Professor Marta Vicarelli on Community Choice Energy programs in Massachusetts, with a broader interest in climate solutions that reduce inequality. He is excited to bring these interests into practice as a CELT Fellow supporting the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission.
