Biosketch

Omid is a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) candidate in Mechanical Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in his second year of the program. Originally from Iran, he earned his Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Energy Systems Engineering from Sharif University of Technology. During his master’s studies, he focused on renewable energy technologies, including wind, solar, and hydrogen systems, and published several papers on sustainable energy and the energy transition. His current doctoral research focuses on developing sustainable methods for metal production. He also served as a municipal fellow for the town of Berlin in the Municipal Fellowship Program's first cohort. Outside of scientific studies, Omid enjoys hiking, camping, and mountain climbing.
