National Science Foundation Supports STEM Students
A program that offers various services to all STEM students.
The Urban Massachusetts Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (UML-LSAMP) is designed to create an integrated community of science, culture and learning for underrepresented students majoring in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields at the alliance institutions.
UML-LSAMP is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and led by the University of Massachusetts Boston.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be an Undergraduate U.S Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Applicants must be enrolled in STEM related discipline at UMass Lowell.
- Although every applicants has a chance of being selected, special effort will be made to select underrepresented minorities and those from groups having limited participation in STEM-degree track (African-Americans, Chicano/Latino Americans, Native Americans, Natives of U.S. Pacific Islands and certain populations of Asian- Americans., eg., those from Vietnam, Laos, etc.)
Selected eligible students will receive an award of $1750.
Priority deadline for the application is Friday, March 22, 2024. Additional applications will be consider as available.
Steps to get RCR (Responsible and Ethical Conduct of Research) Certificate.
- Students must first create a User name and pass word and affiliate it with the University of Massachusetts Lowell https://about.citiprogram.org/ link then:
- Log in, On main page
- Click "Add Course"
- Scroll down
- Select "Responsible Conduct of Research (Optional)
- Click "Next" this brings to home screen
- The Responsible Conduct Research is now Clickable to start.
