Disability Services

As part of the Wellness Center, the office of Disability Services at UMass Lowell promotes diversity and inclusion by partnering with the campus community. We create equal access by removing barriers, promoting diversity, employing universal design and striving for inclusion.

While classes are being administered online, all interaction with Disability Services will be over the phone or email.
As of Tuesday the 24th of March, Disability Services will be supporting the health and wellbeing of our students and staff using remote platforms.

We will be answering phone calls during normal business hours. We will not be monitoring voicemail until further notice. If we are unable to take your call, here are the options available for you to reach out for care.

To speak to a staff member at Disability Services, please email

When emailing please include your name, student ID number and a phone number for us to reach you at to respond to your email. Do not include any information that you would consider confidential because while every effort is made to protect confidentiality, email is not a secure form of communication and confidentiality cannot be guaranteed. Emails will be checked throughout the business day and will be responded to as soon as possible.

If you have a documented disability and would like to register for Academic Accommodations, please follow these instructions:

  1. Complete the Public Accommodation Request Form. Please note that you will need your UMass Lowell student email and password to log into the system.
  2. Upload your documentation to your completed Public Accommodations Request Form. You can view types of documentation we accept.
  3. Once this process is complete, you will need to check your UMass Lowell email account for notification of when you can book an Intake Appointment with our office. Intake appointments can be scheduled once both the Public Accommodation Request and the documentation have been reviewed by our team of specialists. During this one on one meeting, our staff and student work together to establish an accommodation plan to help students access the curriculum. Meetings are private and confidential.
