UMass Lowell will resume on-campus instruction, research and campus life for Fall 2020. View the plan for more info.
IMPORTANT CORONAVIRUS UPDATE
UMass Lowell is resuming research activities on a staged basis following the recommendations of the UMass Lowell Fall/Summer 2020 Planning Committee on Research and Scholarship Support. This committee has developed a re-entry plan for campus research that adheres to university, state and federal guidelines for minimizing the spread of COVID-19. Please review the plan carefully for complete details about the staged approach and the protocols and requirements for health and safety.
The university is currently in Stage 3 which means that campus access is restricted, but limited access will be permitted with advance approval and in compliance with requirements issued by the committee and university for safety and other matters. Requests for access are strictly voluntary and no researcher should feel pressure to return to the lab during this re-entry stage.
For those who wish to apply for re-entry during Stage 3, please complete the application for activities using research and scholarship spaces through the UMass Lowell Research & Innovation Opportunities Portal, also known as InfoReady. The application process includes approval for the requested research and scholarship space, the number and type of personnel who may use such space, which hours it is available and health and safety standards, including training requirements.
As stated in the re-entry plan, all researchers who wish to apply for on-campus access during Stage 3 must complete a safety training provided by The New England Consortium (TNEC). Please visit the TNEC website to learn more and register for a training.
Please continue to review all the COVID-19 research announcements as the Office of Research and Innovation provides updates throughout the stages.
Thank you for your cooperation as we all work together to facilitate the continuation of important research and scholarship activities on campus. If you have any questions, please refer to our FAQ or please email: VCRI@uml.edu.
