UMass Lowell knows the world, and our students, are changing. We're changing too. In the past year, we've added more of what students want: more interesting, useful and flexible programs to give them the knowledge and degrees they're looking for, sometimes in just three years.

Engineering Physics

Combines Science and Engineering in One Degree

The B.S. in Engineering Physics program builds on the existing strengths and capacities of UMass Lowell’s physics department and adds in specialized engineering courses. 

In today’s rapidly changing technological landscape, the traditional lines between science and engineering are increasingly blurred. As an engineering physics major, you will gain the scientific rigor and hands-on training needed to address design challenges in the 21st century.

Exercise Science

Complete the Clinical Option in Just 3 Years

The B.S. in Exercise Science focuses on the study of bodily movement that contributes to human fitness and wellness. Students can choose from either a Clinical Option, which offers a new three-year pathway or the Exercise and Fitness Management Option to pursue careers in the fitness industry.

We also offer a minor in Exercise Science as well.

Digital Media

Develop Technical Skills in Visual and Audio Communication

The B.A. in Digital Media exposes students to media platforms spanning from online multimedia production to TV and filmmaking through courses in video, film, sound production, editing, motion graphics, podcasting, broadcasting and screenwriting. 
Put your skills into practice in our TV studio, theater, sound recording technology studios, music practice rooms and specialized art studios.

Meteorology & Atmospheric Science

Students Can Minor in Geology or Climate Change & Sustainability

The B.S. in Meteorology & Atmospheric Science provides a solid foundation in chemistry, physics, biology, and mathematics and interdisciplinary understanding how the earth system works.

Students study meteorology, weather forecasting, climatology and air pollution; the program also fulfills the education requirements for federally employed meteorologists.

Quantitative Economics

Use Data Analytics to Address Social Issues

Our B.S. in Quantitative Economics program is designed for students who love social science but also want to master the data analysis skills necessary to meet increased employer demand. Learn how to address interesting questions like:

  • How can we induce a company to be more environmentally concerned?
