On Wednesday June 26, 2019 UMass Lowell’s IT group will be updating the security setup on the university’s “eduroam” wireless network.

Every kind of device (Windows, Mac, Android, iPhone) will show a different prompt and some may display “clearpass-vip.ng.uml.edu” for the name of the new certificate.

If you are prompted to accept a new security certificate for the “eduroam” network, please do so. If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact Tech Services at 978-934-4357 or x-44357.

UMass Lowell eduroam WiFi Set Up – Windows 10 Note: These instructions are only needed if your Windows 10 PCis experiencing a problem connecting to the eduroam WiFi network.  Step 1. Turn on WiFi, select eduroam, and click Connect.

1. Turn on WiFi, select eduroam, and click Connect.

2. You will be asked if you want to continue connecting - click Connect.

3. Reconnect to the UMass Lowell eduroam WiFi network.

UMass Lowell eduroam WiFi Set Up – Windows 7 Note: These instructions are only needed if your Windows 7 PC is experiencing a problem connecting to the eduroam WiFi network. Step 1.	Turn on WiFi, select eduroam, and click Connect.

1. Turn on WiFi, select eduroam, and click Connect.

2. You will see a ‘Windows Security Alert’ screen – click Connect.

3. Then reconnect to the UMass Lowell eduroam WiFi network.

Step 2: Select the “eduroam” profile and click on the   button in them lower left corner to delete the saved eduroam profile.

1. Go to System Preferences then click Profiles.

2. Select the “eduroam” profile and click on the "minus" button (horizontal line button) in them lower left corner to delete the saved eduroam profile.

3. Go to System Preferences then click Network.

4. Click Advanced… in the lower right corner.

Select “eduroam” and click on the "minus" button (horizontal line button) to delete the saved eduroam WiFi connection.

5. Select “eduroam” and click on the "minus" button (horizontal line button) to delete the saved eduroam WiFi connection.

6. Click OK, then click Apply.

7. Connect to the eduroam WiFi network – you will be asked for your UMass Lowell username and password.

UMass Lowell eduroam WiFi Set Up – iPhone/iPad Note: These instructions are only needed if your iPhone or iPad is experiencing a problem connecting to the eduroam WiFi network. Step # 1.	Go to Settings and tap on General, then scroll down and tap on Profile.

1. Go to Settings and tap on General, then scroll down and tap on Profile.

UMass Lowell eduroam WiFi Set Up – iPhone/iPad Note: These instructions are only needed if your iPhone or iPad is experiencing a problem connecting to the eduroam WiFi network. Step #2.	Tap on eduroam and tap Delete Profile. You will need to enter your PIN code and confirm this step.

UMass Lowell eduroam WiFi Set Up – iPhone/iPad Note: These instructions are only needed if your iPhone or iPad is experiencing a problem connecting to the eduroam WiFi network. Step #3.	Go to Settings and tap on WiFi, then tap on eduroam.

4. Enter your UMass Lowell username and password.

5. If you see a certificate screen, click Trust in the upper right corner.

6. You will be connected to the UMass Lowell eduroam WiFi network.

UMass Lowell eduroam WiFi Set Up – Android Note: These instructions are only needed if your Android device is experiencing a problem connecting to the eduroam WiFi network. Step 2.	Long-press on “eduroam” and select Modify network or Manage network settings.

1. Open the Wi-Fi settings on your Android device.

2. Long-press on “eduroam” and select Modify network or Manage network settings.

3. Tap the pencil icon next to Security (if applicable).

Tap “CA Certificate” and select Don’t validate or Unspecified. You may see a message that no certificate is specified and your connection will not be private – this is expected.

5. Tap Save.

6. Reconnect to the UMass Lowell eduroam WiFi network.
