The Music Department offers many options for students to play jazz, coached by distinguished faculty. Most meet once a week and give a performance every semester.

Jazz Laboratory Ensemble, Coached by bass instructor, Charles Gabriel, explores everything from contemporary jazz to hard bop.  A recent concert focused on material from the Blue Note Label.  For more information contact Charles Gabriel via email: Charles_Gabriel@uml.edu.
Small Jazz Ensemble features guitars, keyboard and a rhythm section, coached by UML's own jazz great, Walt Platt.
