In the past, we have joined forces with the following organizations and other local environmentally minded organizations and individuals to host clean up days on the Merrimack River that we all enjoy!

- Merrimack River Watershed Council
- Merrimack Valley Sierra Club
For the summer of 2024, we are offering two river cleanup days for you to join us. Paddling instruction is provided and we'll have a great time paddling on the water and cleaning up the river. You will learn about the history of caring for our water in Lowell and in the country and we'll do our part to help the Merrimack now.
Max size 7 people, but we can consider raising group size to 14 - email us at: kayakcenter@uml.edu if you have more people to join.
Cost: Just $10 per person! Thanks for helping clean up the river!

No matter what trip you join, you can always work with us to help clean up the river all summer long. Anytime you paddle with us you can ask for some grabbers and a mesh or regular trash bag to pick up any (safe to handle) marine debris you find floating or on the shore. When you get back to the boathouse our staff can help you haul your trash out and dispose of it properly.
