To adjust changes in campus climate over time, the ADVANCE Office for Faculty Equity & Resilience (OFER) team utilizes the Gender Bias in Academia Index (GBAI) to measure the presence and impact of microaggressions and gender biases experienced by faculty within various academic settings at UMass Lowell. The GBAI scale is evolved from the Subtle Gender Bias Index. The Making WAVES team has administered the biannual survey to UMass Lowell faculty in 2017, 2019, and 2021. Results were disseminated via campus feedback sessions.
