The UMass Lowell (UML) Faculty Work Climate survey is designed to assess faculty’s experiences of microaggressions, bias, feeling value / devalued, and support within various academic settings. It has been administered on a biennial basis since 2017.

The 2017, 2019 and 2021 surveys were part of the NSF-Funded Making WAVES Initiative. Future biennial surveys will be conducted by the ADVANCE Office for Faculty Equity & Resilience, now funded by the Provost’s Office, to both expand and institutionalize the work that has been done by WAVES over the last five years.
