Sixteen Kennedy College of Sciences students explored evolution and development firsthand during a two-week study abroad course in the Galápagos Islands, combining classroom learning with immersive field research and cultural experiences.

Thirteen UMass Lowell undergraduate students are participating in a paid summer internship program with Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), a global leader in technology integration and a partner in the Lowell Innovation Network Corridor.

Charles Achkar '86 nourished his passion for science as a biology major at UMass Lowell. Now an intellectual property attorney in New York City, Ackbar has come full circle as the newest member of the Kennedy College of Sciences advisory board.
