Oprah Winfrey, a global media leader, philanthropist, producer and actress, discussed education, gratitude, "The Oprah Winfrey Show," her work with children in South Africa and more at the Chancellor's Speaker Series on Nov. 15. The event was moderated by UMass Lowell Chancellor Jacquie Moloney and raised more than $3 million for student scholarships. Read more
Winfrey’s appearance at UMass Lowell, co-sponsored by the College of Fine Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, was the third Chancellor’s Speaker Series program. Previous events featured author Stephen King and actress Meryl Streep and raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for student scholarships.
