Find Partners and Collaborators

UMass Lowell subscribes to a variety of resources that can help faculty search for collaborators for their projects. Below are some of the systems and instructions to find experts and/or corporate partners to advance your research and scholarship.

GrantForward

On GrantForward, you can find a collaborators who have published a profile. You may search by research interests within UMass Lowell or across all institutions.

1. Go to the “Researchers” tab and select “Search researchers.” 

2. Find a researcher by name or email You can search for publicized profiles by entering the name or email of a researcher in the search box or filtering by the researcher’s last name.

  • You may filter this search by selecting “Within Your Instiution” or “Across All Institutions.” If you are searching across all institutions, you may also select from a list of all active institutions. Once you’ve found a researcher, you may access each profile detail page to view their full information.
3. Find researchers by research interests or user type.
  • You can look for researchers inside or outside your institution who have similar research interests to yours (e.g., computer sciences) by entering keywords in the “Research Interests” field.
  • You can also filter by user type (All, Student, Researcher, Staff) to quickly identify a suitable partner.

Dimensions

Dimensions is a database of faculty and institutions that combines citation, grant, and other data to help you find potential collaborators using a keyword search with a wide range of filters. This platform can also help you better understand the research community in your field as you plan your career.

1. Log in to Dimensions: Go to Dimensions Discover and log in with your credentials.

2. Select the 'Publications' tab: After logging in, you will be directed to the 'Discover' page. Ensure that the 'Publications' tab is selected from the options at the top.

3. Refine your search criteria:

  • Keywords: Enter relevant keywords related to your research topic in the search bar.
  • Filters: Use the filters on the left sidebar to narrow your search results.

Halo

Halo is an artificial intelligence-powered technology platform that helps corporate research and development (R&D) teams more efficiently connect with scientific partners and bring innovations to market faster. Halo is completely free to use for your researchers to find collaboration opportunities and to monitor partnership activity on the platform.

Researchers should create a profile to access funding opportunities.

Once you have found an appropriate opportunity, the preliminary proposal form that researchers submit is standardized and only takes 30-45 minutes to complete.

Graduate students and postdocs are welcome to apply for themselves or on the behalf of their PI.
