Fabrication, Characterization of Polydiacetylene and Phthalocyanine Micro- and Nanocrystals
Jayant Kumar, Physics; Daniel J. Sandman, Chemistry
Nanosized crystals of urethane-substituted polydiacetylene (PDA) crystals of bis(ethyl)-urethane of 5,7-dodecadiyne-1,12-diol (poly(ETCD)) and 1, 4, 8, 11, 15, 18, 22, 25 – octabutoxy – 29H, 31H – phthalocyanine(Pc) were successfully fabricated through the reprecipitation approach followed by ultrasonication treatment from their monomer and molecular acetone solution, respectively. The electronic absorption maxima of poly(ETCD) and Pc nanocrystals shift to longer wavelength compared to their bulk crystal and molecular acetone solution, respectively.
