Full and engaged participation in trainings and education can help prevent sexual harassment and sexual violence. It can also equip you with knowledge of reporting options, resources and UMass Lowell's processes.

Training Materials

The Title IX team at UMass Lowell has received training from the Association of Title IX Administrators (atIXa) including the following. For the training dates, please refer to the dates below, rather than the dates within the linked downloadable materials. The presenters may also differ.

Employee Training

Preventing Harassment and Discrimination, with Title IX and Clery training for all employees provides interactive exercises that enhance skills to respond and prevent harassment on our campus; and practical tips on creating a safe, inclusive environment for learning and work. To request enrollment, please contact Equal Opportunity and Outreach at 978-934-3565 or Equal_Opportunity@uml.edu.

If you have been sexually assaulted:

  1. Get to a safe place.
  2. Don’t change your clothes, shower or go to the bathroom. To find out how to preserve evidence, contact the UMass Lowell Police Department (see Contacts) or any local police department.
  3. You are strongly encouraged to talk to a UMass Lowell professional staff member or contact UMass Lowell Police, 978-934-4911 or ext. 44911.
  4. You are strongly encouraged to go to Lowell General Hospital to be examined. Seeking medical attention at a SANE Hospital also is strongly encouraged. Lowell General Hospital is the closest SANE hospital in this area. The University Police will provide transportation in an unmarked car if you need assistance.
