Students in the colleges and majors listed below are required to take the ALEKS Calculus-Readiness test; the score received determines which math course in the sequence you will start in before proceeding to any following courses.
For example, an Engineering student who scores a 35 will take the following courses:
- First semester: Precalculus 1
- Second semester: Precalculus 2
- Third semester: Calculus 1

Students who score 45 – 54 and are in a major that requires Calculus 1 can enroll a combined Precalculus 1 + Precalculus 2 class that meets for 8 hours a week. Your academic advisor, who you will meet during Orientation, can discuss the pros and cons and help you enroll.
