Every day events around the world and in our communities bring new, interesting and unexpected topics to the forefront. Each day journalists look for experts to help explain what’s happening and its impact.
The university is a valuable source of this expertise.
Not only do interactions with news media inform the public, they elevate faculty members, their research and UMass Lowell:
- Media interviews raise the university’s profile as we recruit prospective students, faculty and researchers to campus.
- Media interviews demonstrate the value of public universities through education, research, community engagement and economic development.
- Media interviews give faculty a platform to discuss important aspects of their research and scholarship that should be part of wider conversation.
Media Training Available
Like any skill, the more frequently you practice, the more adept you become. Media Relations coordinates individualized training to help faculty become comfortable working with journalists, increasing the chances that intended messages are clearly conveyed.
