Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU) is one of the largest and oldest technical universities in Europe. CTU currently has eight faculties with more than 17,800 students.

Course Offerings

All incoming students are required to collect at least 15 ECTS credits/semester towards their degree program at their home university. View course offerings taught in English for exchange students on the CTU website.

Housing

Approximately 8,000 local and international students are accommodated each year in the CTU dormitories. Rule number one is that each new student shall be offered a place/bed. The accommodation is mainly in shared rooms.

Study Abroad Fee

NOTE: This is a Reciprocal Exchange Program. This means that for semester programs, housing and meal plans will be paid to the host institution but tuition, fees and other expenses will be paid to UMass Lowell (UML). For summer or winter programs all fees will be paid to the host institution and not to UML.

The Campus

The main CTU campus, on which most of the faculties are located, is close to the city center, and 15 minutes on foot from Prague Castle and from the spectacular Lesser Quarter district.

Exploring Czech Republic

Prague is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Its rich history, diverse architecture, and interesting cultural and sports opportunities are the basic characteristics of the Czech capital city. In districts like Karlín, Žižkov, or Holešovice you can find historical buildings as well as modern and trendy places full of art, young people in coffee-shops, or working spaces.
