The International Students and Scholars Office (ISSO) is dedicated to the university's commitment to global engagement and inclusion.
The mission of the ISSO is to support international students and scholars from around the globe in achieving their academic, professional and career objectives at UMass Lowell. The ISSO assists with navigating the complex, ever-changing sphere of student and scholar immigration regulations from their pre-arrival stages throughout the entire post-completion phases of their academic and research programs.
The ISSO also partners with administrative and academic departments to:
- maintain institutional compliance with federal immigration regulations
- foster international student success
- enhance the University’s global engagement and collaborative research efforts
- create a welcoming, inclusive environment on campus and in the community
